Clearwater County Warrant Records Clearwater County Warrant Records

This page explains what we can and cannot help with, and where to send a question about an official Clearwater County warrant. Almost every request belongs with the sheriff's office or the district court in Bagley, not with us. The routing below points each kind of question at the office that actually holds the answer, along with the addresses, phone numbers, and counter hours for the courthouse offices. The courthouse doors are the ones that matter. Call before you go.

This Is Not a Government or Law Enforcement Office. We run a private reference site. We cannot confirm whether a warrant exists, recall or clear a warrant, post bond, arrange a surrender, or give legal advice to anyone. For any of those, the sheriff's office or the issuing court has to answer you directly.

Need Official Warrant Information?

Here is where the questions people ask most often about Clearwater County warrants actually belong:

  • Whether a warrant exists: contact the Clearwater County Sheriff's Office, the office that publishes the county active warrant list and can confirm an outstanding warrant
  • A bench warrant from a missed court date: contact the district court that set the case, since a judge issued that warrant and the court controls its status
  • Resolving or clearing a warrant: talk to a licensed Minnesota attorney and the issuing court about a motion to recall or quash, a voluntary appearance, or bond
  • An arrest warrant tied to a charge: the issuing court sets the charge and the release conditions, and the sheriff's office serves the warrant
  • A copy of a record rather than a status check: send the county a written public information request and describe the record, the date range, and the format you want

For a warrant held at the county level, the primary counter is the sheriff's office. Clearwater County Sheriff's Office, courthouse first floor, Department 102, 213 Main Avenue North, Bagley, MN 56621. Phone 218-694-6226, fax 218-344-8144. The public counter is open Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and the office states that its phone line is answered 24 hours a day. Counter hours and the phone line are two different things, so call before you travel.

For the case behind a warrant, the district court is the right office. Clearwater County District Court, 213 Main Avenue #303, Bagley, MN 56621. Phone 218-935-4020, fax 218-935-6489. Court hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and the court page notes free surface and street parking near the building. Case-specific questions go to the Clearwater court administrator rather than the Ninth Judicial District office.

For a copy of a sheriff's office record, the county's public information request form goes by fax to 218-694-6244 or by mail to Clearwater County, 213 Main Avenue North, Department 202, Bagley, MN 56621. Paper copies run 25 cents a page, and the form notes that the county may take up to five business days to respond. Ask for the public portion of the record and for the statute behind anything withheld.

If the matter started with a city police department, that department keeps its own records. Bagley Police Department can be reached at 218-694-6150, and the shared Clearbrook-Gonvick Police Department at 218-776-3490. Emergencies belong on 911; the county dispatch line is a non-emergency route and is not a substitute for it.
